THEMED POST (Post 7)

Imagen
This themed post means that you can write about something you want to write about. Write about something that moves you, or interests you, or you are passionate about, or want to share. Word Count: 230 I am going to write about a city I feel very connected to. It is a partial hometown for me. Hamburg, Germany. My mom was from there, and my grandparents (and great-grandparents lived there, and I was partially raised by them, so I spent a lot of my childhood and youth there. Hamburg is a really special city. It has about 1,8 million inhabitants, and is Germany's second largest city. It is very distinctive from the rest of Germany for several reasons. It is a port city. In fact it is either the first or second biggest port in Europe. You can spend all day just travelling around the port seeing the ships, the wharfs, the canals, the warehouses, the port neighborhoods with bars and typical life of a port. Part of the public transport system is a "water bus" (boat) ...

My Post Graduate Studies (Post 6)

Today you will write about your post-graduate studies. These are studies after you graduate from this institution now receiving your diploma. Maybe you want to get another Master's Degree, a Master's Degree, or a PhD... Maybe you don't, but imagine you did... What would you study? Why? Where? What would be the reason for this? What motivates you? Add any other relevant information. Word minimum: 220 My case might be a little complicated. I was one of those students who was interested in many things, and I had a couple of possibilities. As you know, I almost chose Geology/Paleontology as a major. However, I didn't. I have a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations, with a specialization in Central European Area Studies. This was an interdisciplinary major that focuses on a particular part of the world (for example: Western Europe, Latin America, East Asia, etc...) and has elements of History, Language, Economics, Political Science, and Geography. As part of it,...

Today we're going to write a post about our future job. The topic: My Future Job. In English, we don't really differentiate between the words profession, occupation, and job, so you can think of it as your profession. What do you think this job will be like? What will you focus on? What will you do? Why will you do it? Say anything you need to say about it. Minimum words: 210 My case is different. I have my job, and I don't want to change it. I am an English teacher. Since I have an MA in Linguistics, this is a logical choice for me, and I'm happy with it. While I was a student, and right after I got my BA, I had various jobs: I sold knives, I was a waiter, I renewed organization memberships over the phone, I worked in a bookstore, I was a billing investigator (I hated that job!)... I've done various jobs to get money to live. In an alternative universe, I might have become a geologist...specifically a paleontologist. I really liked these subjects in school, and...
