Something I wish would change in Chile (Post 8)
Hi, For this course, this semester, this will be our last post. In this post you should write about something you wish would change (or be changed) in Chile. This could be something that people are generally unhappy about. It could be something that is a topic of the protests. Minimum word count: 200 I am going to write about the AFP system. I am at a point in my life when I really have to think about it. As a working inhabitant of Chile, I am enrolled in this system. I've been here very long--almost 20 years, so it's not feasible for me to leave and go back to the US because my pension there (Social Security) would be very low because I worked there last in 1991...long ago. The problem with the AFP system is that it isn't a real pension system. It's just money that you are obliged to save, to invest in an investment fund that is managed by an investment firm (that makes a lot of money doing this).
