A COUNTRY I'D LIKE TO VISIT
Hi,
This is the first blogpost. The topic is: A country I'd like to visit. Say:
Why you'd like to visit this country, what is interesting about it, some facts about the country, will you probably visit it, and any other information you can include. Word count minimum: 160.
There are many countries that I would like to visit, but one I'd like to visit is Ethiopia. Ethiopia is located in East Africa. This country has a rather unique history. It has an old culture that goes back almost 2,000 years. Ethiopia is based on the ancient Amharic kingdom. This kingdom became an Orthodox Christian nation in the 5th Century, and developed unique and beautiful churches full of icons and art work. Some of them are UNESCO world heritage sites. Historically, Ethiopia resisted centuries of attacks by Arabs who tried to conquor it. It was never really colonized by Europeans either. The Italians attacked it under Mussolini, and invaded, but at great cost.
There are a lot of amazing landscapes in Ethiopia. There are deep canyons surrounded by cliffs, high plateaus, and some desert depressions with very high temperatures. There are a lot of still pristine natural landscapes.
Ethiopia is a multicultural country. There are many ethnic groups with distinct languages and cultural differences.
Besides all this, my cousin, who lives and works in Burundi, has visitied Ethiopia and said it really is worth a visit. It even has a pretty good infrastructure and an airline, which makes it easy to get to. I think I'll probably go at some point...but not tomorrow.

I'm really interested in Africa aswell! (as you can see on my blog). As I was reading your post I started to feel very curious about Ethiopia, especially about the many ethnic groups. I hope you can visit it one day! (but not tomorrow)
ResponderEliminarWoah, it's really interesting, I didn't know to much about all those facts from this country, and I also think that is amazing that you have an uncle living in Burindí, another very distant conuntry from here.
